Horror audiences will meet a new nightmare on June 20 when Colin Tilley’s feature debut Eye for an Eye lands in select theaters and on digital platforms. Adapted from Elisa Victoria’s graphic novel Mr. Sandman and co-written by Victoria with Michael Tully, the Florida-set story follows Anna (Whitney Peak, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping) as she relocates from New York to live with the grandmother she has never met, portrayed by S. Epatha Merkerson (Chicago Med).
In the quiet coastal town, Anna bonds with local teens played by Finn Bennett (True Detective) and newcomer Laken Giles. Their fragile friendship fractures after a brutal act of violence drags them into the orbit of Mr. Sandman—the vengeful spirit of a tormented child who stalks bullies’ dreams and exacts retribution upon waking. Golda Rosheuvel (Bridgerton) rounds out the cast.
Known for high-impact music videos, director Colin Tilley steps behind the feature lens for the first time, promising a grounded exploration of guilt and consequence. With summer release timing and a recognizable ensemble, Eye for an Eye aims to capture genre fans searching for fresh, original material between blockbuster tentpoles.
