Ahead of its world premiere at the FrightFest Film Festival in London on August 23, we have an exclusive look at the trailer for the new film, The Haunted Forest.Written and directed by Keith Boynton, the film blends a love of classic slasher films with a deeper look at why audiences are drawn to horror.

The story follows Zach, a high school senior with an obsession for horror movies and Halloween. When he takes a job at his cousin’s famed “Haunted Forest” attraction in Maryland, he’s thrilled to immerse himself in the world he adores. But as a string of real-life murders begins to unfold, Zach’s dream job quickly becomes a nightmare, forcing him to confront the darker side of his fascination with the macabre.
Boynton describes the film as both a tribute to and an examination of the slasher genre, drawing inspiration from the legendary Markoff’s Haunted Forest. The director’s statement highlights the project as a celebration of horror’s thrills while also questioning the human fascination with fear and violence.
The Haunted Forest stars a cast led by new and emerging talent and will premiere at FrightFest.
