Dekkoo Films has announced a partnership with independent labels Lonely Spectre Productions and June Gloom Productions for the upcoming LGBTQ+ horror feature Scorch Marks, written and directed by Brendan Haley. The film is currently in production and is scheduled for release in 2026.

The story follows Beckett, a man who awakens to a world consumed by scorched skies and desolation. Believing himself to be the last survivor of a global catastrophe, Beckett faces a haunting from his abusive ex-husband, Joel, forcing the estranged pair to confront their past as they endure supernatural threats and a primordial force emerging from the remnants of the apocalypse.

Scorch Marks stars Brandon Shypkowski (29 Palms) and Chris Salvatore (Eating Out), joined by Tiffany Shepis (Star Trek: Picard), Peter Stickles (Shortbus), and Vander Von Odd, winner of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula.

Writer-director Brendan Haley, known for The Jessica Cabin and House of Ka, describes Scorch Marks as a reflection on “the destructive nature of heteronormative culture” and the need to tell challenging queer stories.

Produced by Michael Varrati and Brandon Kirby of June Gloom Productions, with consulting producer Dr. Emily Zarka (Monstrum), the project aligns with Dekkoo Films’ commitment to highlighting diverse LGBTQ+ voices in cinema.

Haley, who also founded Lonely Spectre Productions, brings experience from acclaimed projects such as Eastsiders, It Listens From The Radio, and The Fangoria Chainsaw Awards.

Scorch Marks promises to deliver a blend of horror, queerness, and apocalyptic dread while exploring survival, trauma, and transformation at the end of the world.
