Charybdis Pictures has released the official poster and new images for A Corpse in Kensington, the upcoming indie psychological slasher-romcom featuring one of the final performances by Michael Madsen. The retro-painted poster evokes the style of 1980s thriller and horror artwork as the film moves into the final stages of post-production.

Set on Halloween 2010 in San Diego’s Kensington neighborhood, the story follows a loner who reconnects with his high school crush and her boyfriend years after graduation. As a string of local killings unsettles the community, suspicion and unresolved emotions begin to surface within the trio.
The cast is led by Derrick Acosta and includes Kimberly Weinberger, Vinny Curran, Savannah Porter, Ryan Bollman, Sutheshna Mani, and Alex Chernow. The film is written and directed by Brian Patrick Butler and produced by Justin Burquist of Broken Swing Productions alongside Butler.

Madsen initially recorded a voice role in early 2024, but a successful crowdfunding campaign expanded his appearance into an on-screen performance, filmed roughly a year before his passing. Butler described the project as a reflection on nostalgia and the passage of time, themes that have taken on additional weight following Madsen’s death.
A Corpse in Kensington is currently completing post-production, with release details expected to be announced soon.
