After its limited theatrical release this summer, The Town That Takes, a supernatural action-horror thriller from writer-director Britt Bankhead, is preparing to make its digital debut. The film will be available to rent or purchase across North America beginning November 7, 2026.

Starring Miles Mussenden, Britt Bankhead, Grace Patterson, Mike Markoff, and Nico Tirozzi, the film follows Dean Richardson (Mussenden), a troubled Army veteran who travels to North Carolina after the sudden death of his ex-wife. Hoping to reconnect with his twelve-year-old son, Wyatt, Dean instead finds himself caught up in a series of disturbing events after the pair stop in a remote backwoods town.
The town has been plagued by gruesome murders, ritualistic killings, and reports of seemingly inhuman creatures. When Wyatt mysteriously disappears, Dean joins forces with veteran detective Douglas O’Shea to investigate an ancient local legend known as Croatoan. As the situation grows increasingly dangerous, Dean must uncover the truth behind the town’s dark history before he loses his son.
Bankhead, known for Insane Like Me, makes his directorial debut with the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Jonathan Blaze. He also produced the project alongside Grace Patterson under the Bankhead Productions banner.
Beginning November 7, audiences can rent or purchase The Town That Takes digitally through platforms including Apple TV, Prime Video, and Fandango.
