The happiest place on earth just got a merry makeover for the holiday season! Holidays begin at the Disneyland Resort on Nov. 9, 2018, through Jan 6, 2019. Throughout the holiday season, traditions are shared, memories are made and the spirit of the season shines even brighter throughout the resort. The festivities include holiday twists on favorite attractions and entertainment experiences. With so much holiday cheer going on throughout the entire resort, there is something for everyone to ignite the Christmas spirit within! Snowfall, Decorations, Disney-themed treats, holiday entertainment, are just a few of the festive findings awaiting you during the most wonderful time of the year.
Disney California Adventure Park
- Disney Festival of Holidays brings the spirit of the season to life through special entertainment, along with delicious food at the Festive Foods Marketplace, which features a mix of holiday dishes and beverages that bridge many diverse cultures and family traditions. Christmas, Navidad, Hanukkah, Diwali, Kwanzaa, and Three Kings Day are among the holidays represented with traditional food and beverage options. Festival of Holidays will be offered for an additional two days, through January 8, 2019.
- Festival of Holidays entertainment includes musical and dance performances by the mischievous Holiday Toy Drummers, Mostly Kosher, Blue13 Dance Company, The Sound, and the GRAMMY® Award-winning Mariachi Divas.
- The Three Caballeros host the popular “Disney ¡Viva Navidad!” street party celebration, featuring folklórico and samba dancers, live musicians, and Mickey and Minnie in their party best. Welcomes to the liveliest holiday fiesta in town!
- Princess Elena’s Musical Grand Arrival welcomes the adventurous and kindhearted Princess Elena of Avalor, her magical friend Skylar, and royal dancers as they share the joy of the holidays in this whimsical musical celebration.
- The residents of Cars Land singing car-ols and decorate for the holidays, too. Each address along Route 66 – Flo’s V8 Café, Fillmore’s Taste-In, Cozy Cone Motel, Luigi’s Casa della Tires and more – gets a holiday makeover that reflects the personality of its “Cars” character resident. Plus, two attractions put the holiday cheer into overdrive, transforming into Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree.
- Guests can visit the one and only Santa Claus and his sleigh full of mischievous elves at Santa’s Holiday Visit at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail through Dec. 24. On Dec. 25 and through Jan. 6, guests may encounter Goofy dressed in his Santa fineries in this festive location.
- When night falls, take a leisurely stroll through Grizzly Peak to take in the sights and sounds of the holiday. And who knows, if you’re lucky, you just might get caught in a flurry of occasional snowfall!
- A dazzling, 50-foot Christmas tree adorns Carthay Circle along Buena Vista Street. The tree and surrounding buildings, inspired by Los Angeles as it appeared when Walt Disney arrived in the 1920s, are decorated with vintage-style ornaments.
Disneyland Park
- Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle, adorned with freshly fallen snow, enchants from day to night with its shimmering icicles and twinkling lights. After dark, “Believe … in Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular with a magical snowfall finale make a magical mark on the hearts of all who see it.
- Mickey, Minnie, Disney Princesses, tin soldiers, and Santa celebrate the season in “A Christmas Fantasy” parade, a daily procession with floats, music, and dancing!
- Guests will be dazzled by the 60-foot tall Christmas tree in Town Square, Main Street, U.S.A., a picture perfect sight where friends and family gather to take holiday photos each year. This year, the tree includes new lighting and décor, with 3,500 multi-color lights, 1,500 Victorian-inspired ornaments and 100 faux candles that range from 12 to 22 inches tall.
- Disneyland guests will not want to miss a chance to experience the popular seasonal transformations of these park attractions:
- “it’s a small world” becomes “it’s a small world” Holiday with dolls and toys representing children around the world singing jingle bells and enjoying the distinctive holiday traditions of their countries.
- Haunted Mansion becomes Haunted Mansion Holiday, featuring Jack Skellington and his friends from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” causing a collision between Christmas and Halloween.
The Downtown Disney District and Hotels of the Disneyland Resort are transformed into winter wonderlands as twinkling lights, ornaments, holiday displays, special holiday entertainment, and holiday-inspired treats bring every square inch of this merry resort into the holiday spirit!
