Filmhub has announced the official U.S. digital release of Anacoreta, the found footage feature directed by and starring Jeremy Schuetze. After a festival run and Canadian debut, the film arrives on Digital HD in the U.S. on February 24.

Anacoreta screened at the Heartland International Film Festival, where it won Best Horror, and at the Manchester Film Festival, earning Best International Feature. The cast includes Antonia Thomas, Schuetze, co-writer Matt Visser, and Jesse Stanley.

The story follows a group of friends who retreat to an isolated cabin in the woods to shoot an experimental horror film. What begins as a self-aware exploration of genre tropes gradually collapses into chaos as their project — and their relationships — begin to unravel. As tensions mount, something lurking beyond the camera frame emerges from the surrounding wilderness.

Leaning into the conventions of found footage storytelling and the isolation of the forest setting, Schuetze and Visser construct a narrative that blurs the line between fiction and reality as their characters confront forces they can neither stage nor control.
