Appetite, a new cannibal horror play from Zombie Joe’s Underground (ZJU), opens in North Hollywood this month. The production centers on the Donner family, whose taste for dinner guests is anything but ordinary, and runs on select Fridays and Saturdays from July 10 through July 18.

APPETITE invites audiences to join the Donner family for dinner — if they dare. The production leans into the darkly comic horror tradition that has made ZJU one of LA’s most consistently compelling genre theater companies, this time centering on a family whose love of meat extends to their guests. The show is described as all-new original work.

Zombie Joe’s Underground has been a cornerstone of Los Angeles horror theater since its founding, producing boundary-pushing live horror including the long-running Urban Death: Tour of Terror and, most recently, the immersive ZJU The Boardgame. Appetite continues the company’s tradition of short-run original productions that prioritize atmosphere, audience interaction, and genuine unease over polish.

Appetite plays at Zombie Joe’s Underground, located at 4850 Lankershim Blvd in North Hollywood, on July 10, 11, 17, and 18, 2026. Shows start at 8:30 PM. Tickets are available at tix.com or by calling 818-202-4120.
