Publisher SOEDESCO and developer Senscape will bring the first-person horror adventure game Asylum to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on October 30, 2026, just in time for Halloween.
Asylum debuted on PC in 2025 and currently holds a Very Positive user rating on Steam. Players take the role of a former patient plagued by disturbing visions who returns to explore the Hanwell Mental Institute, searching for clues and piecing together the truth behind the mysterious events that took place within its walls.
The game runs about 10 hours and pairs immersive exploration with challenging puzzles that reward careful observation. Its story draws on Lovecraftian fiction and classic horror cinema, and its soundtrack is inspired by 1980s horror films and the work of John Carpenter. Senscape says the horror is built around suspense and atmosphere, with only a handful of carefully placed jump scares.
Asylum is classified as an adventure, horror, and point-and-click game. SOEDESCO, an independent developer, publisher, and distributor based in Rotterdam, is also behind Dollhouse and Orange Season.
