Iconic Events Releasing, in partnership with Lionsgate, is bringing Kinji Fukasaku’s landmark Japanese action-thriller Battle Royale back to the big screen for its 25th anniversary. The 4K theatrical-cut screenings will run October 12–13 and 15 across North America, presented in Japanese with English subtitles.

The anniversary screenings feature a newly restored 4K presentation, highlighting the film’s intense action and social commentary with enhanced clarity. In addition to the film, audiences will be treated to a special interview with Kenta Fukasaku, the screenwriter of Battle Royale and son of director Kinji Fukasaku. This featurette, Kinji Fukasaku: A Master at Work, offers insights into Kinji’s creative process, including how his experiences during World War II and the political movements of the 1970s influenced the film’s vision.
