A new production company is joining the genre landscape just in time for the 2026 Halloween season. Producers Brooke Becker and Delaney Sharpe have launched Black Ribbon Productions, a Los Angeles-based company focused on horror, science fiction and alternative content with an emphasis on digital platforms and underrepresented voices.
The company arrives with several projects already on its slate, ranging from a bite-sized YouTube horror anthology to short films and a digital horror campaign set in the 15th century.
Becker brings experience both in front of and behind the camera, with credits that include Hulu’s The Dropout, HBO Max’s Head of the Class and Freeform’s grown-ish. She also served as a staff writer and recurring performer on the series Parallel.
Sharpe is a playwright whose produced work includes Emily Dickinson Is Dead at the Aurora Fox Theater. She made her directing debut with Adaptation: Harrison Bergeron and has appeared in projects including Reputation, Artefact and Army & Coop.
Black Ribbon’s 2026 Horror Slate
First up is The Veil, a bite-sized horror anthology series scheduled to premiere on YouTube in August 2026.
Becker will write and direct Thin Air, a horror sci-fi short produced in collaboration with Rhymes With Pie Productions. The film stars Monroe Cline (Don’t Worry Darling, The Beauty) and is set to premiere at the L.A. Shorts International Film Festival in August.
Rounding out the initial lineup is Dark Ages, a digital horror campaign following a woman undergoing treatment for endometriosis in the late 1400s.
According to Becker, Black Ribbon grew out of a shared love of the frightening stories she and Sharpe read growing up.
“Black Ribbon Productions was born from the scary stories we used to read under the covers at night instead of doing our homework,” Becker said, adding that the company wants to bring audiences unexpected stories through the platforms they already use.
Sharpe said the company also plans to work with filmmakers from historically underrepresented communities while pursuing both digital-first distribution and traditional media opportunities.
With four projects already announced, Black Ribbon Productions is entering the horror and sci-fi space with an approach that embraces short-form and digital storytelling alongside more traditional filmmaking. Horror fans can get their first taste of the company’s work this August with The Veil and the festival premiere of Thin Air.
