More than 1,000 fans gathered at the iconic Alex Theatre in Glendale, California, Tuesday night to celebrate BUDDY THE SING-ALONG VERSION, joining director Casper Kelly and cast members for a special theatrical event dedicated to the film’s orange horror icon.

Some fans began lining up as early as 8 a.m., with attendees traveling more than 50 miles for the opportunity to see BUDDY up close. Guests arrived in film-inspired outfits, sang along with the movie, and participated in an immersive screening experience alongside BUDDY and friends.
The event comes as BUDDY continues its impressive box-office run. The Roadside Attractions and Saban Films release has earned more than $26 million over the past five weeks, marking the biggest opening of the year for a film playing on fewer than 1,800 screens.
The independent, non-franchise, rated-R horror film has also surpassed The Invite to become the highest-grossing acquisition from Sundance 2026 to date.
BUDDY has reached additional milestones for its distributors, becoming the highest-grossing film in Saban Films’ history and the third-highest-grossing film ever for Roadside Attractions. It has surpassed Judy, with I Can Only Imagine and Manchester by the Sea holding the top two positions for Roadside Attractions.
Directed by Casper Kelly and written by Kelly and Jamie King, BUDDY continues to bring horror fans together for an unconventional theatrical experience. With its sing-along screening drawing more than 1,000 attendees, the film’s latest event demonstrates how audiences are embracing the opportunity to celebrate their favorite orange friend together.
