Storm King Comics has announced Chaplain, a debut original graphic novel from co-writers Brad and Rev. Wesley Sun and artist Raúlo Cáceres, arriving in comic shops on July 1, 2026 and in bookstores on July 7, 2026 as part of John Carpenter’s Night Terrors line.

An aging hospital chaplain discovers an ancient, unknowable monster stalking the halls of his hospital. Alongside his energetic young intern, he is pushed to the very edge of sanity as the creature — an unrelenting cosmic presence that infects everything it touches — begins to unravel not just reality but the chaplain’s own convictions and faith. The result is a surreal, deeply unsettling 160-page graphic novel that pits institutional religious certainty against something utterly beyond comprehension.

Brad and Rev. Wesley Sun co-write the book as Sun Bros Studios — brothers who have self-published their own work for over a decade, including the graphic novels Chinatown and Monkey Fist. Wesley Sun draws directly from his 20 years of experience as a working chaplain in hospitals, jails, and homeless shelters, and currently trains chaplain interns at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Chicago. Spanish artist Raúlo Cáceres (Gravel, Crossed, Extinction Parade) provides the interior art. Ryan Winn handles colors and Marshall Dillon handles letters.

Chaplain retails for $24.99. It’s available July 1 in comic shops (comicshopmap.com) and July 7 in bookstores and at stormkingcomics.com.
