Roadside Attractions and Saban Films have set October 16, 2026 as the theatrical release date for CRAWLERS, a new creature-feature horror film directed by Ángel Gómez Hernández (Don’t Listen). Written by Jayson Rothwell (Polar, Silent Night), the film stars Matilda Lutz (Revenge) as a building manager locked inside a quarantined apartment complex overrun by venomous, rapidly multiplying spiders.

When a catastrophic infestation descends on a residential building, police enforce a lockdown that traps everyone inside — residents and staff alike. Serena (Lutz), who knows every corridor, utility shaft, and weak point of the Paradiso Palms complex, may be the only person capable of keeping her neighbors alive. The catch: surviving means confronting the fear she has spent years refusing to face. As the creatures multiply by the second, time and options both run out fast.
Gómez Hernández, whose 2020 Netflix supernatural horror Don’t Listen announced him as a director to watch, brings his knack for sustained dread to a setting that is terrifyingly ordinary. CRAWLERS marks the first feature from Badlands, a new collaboration between Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee’s Thunder Road (John Wick, Sicario) and longtime studio executive Scott Strauss (Resident Evil, Underworld). Jayson Rothwell, Peter Welter Soler (Terminator: Dark Fate), Josh Weinstock, and Alexandra Milchan also produce. Andrew Schwartzberg, Jon Shiffman, and Diarmaid McGrath executive produce. The film runs 81 minutes.
“We knew we wanted CRAWLERS the moment we saw it — it’s a viciously entertaining thrill ride, as fun as it is terrifying,” said Roadside Attractions co-presidents Howard Cohen and Eric d’Arbeloff.
CRAWLERS opens in theaters on October 16, 2026.
