Paramount+ has announced that Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson will both join the second season of Dexter: Resurrection in series regular roles, expanding the cast of the returning serial killer drama. The announcement comes as season one is currently available to binge on Paramount+ with the Paramount+ Premium Plan.

Johnson will play Fiona Mixon, a training officer in the Homicide unit and Harrison’s (Jack Alcott) new love interest — a self-described nepo-baby in the police world whose family connections complicate everything around her. Woodbine takes on the role of Captain Mixon, Fiona’s father and a bulldog homicide captain who brings serious institutional muscle to the precinct dynamic.

Their arrivals follow a string of high-profile season two casting announcements. Brian Cox will play “The New York Ripper,” Uma Thurman reprises her role as Charley, and Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey, The Guest) steps in as “The Five Borough Killer.” Michael C. Hall returns in the titular role of Dexter Morgan.

Woodbine (Fargo, Overlord, Spider-Man: Homecoming) brings a track record in both genre and prestige television, including an Emmy nomination for his work on Fargo. Johnson’s credits span Fear the Walking Dead, The Handmaid’s Tale, Them: Covenant, and Mayor of Kingstown.

Emmy-nominated showrunner Clyde Phillips (Dexter) returns to executive produce alongside Hall, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, John Goldwyn, and Sara Colleton. Dexter: Resurrection is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios.

Season one of Dexter: Resurrection is available now on Paramount+.
