Level 33 Entertainment has set an exclusive U.S. and Canadian theatrical release for EVER AFTER, the fairy tale-turned-slasher nightmare from writer/director Laszlo Illes (Haunting Trophies, The Shepherd). The film opens in theaters on September 4, 2026, followed by an On Demand release on October 27, 2026.
EVER AFTER takes the whimsy of childhood storybooks and throws it into a woodchipper. A group of friends heads to a remote forest lodge for a bachelorette weekend, only to discover the surrounding woods are home to bloodthirsty fanatics who believe they are living out the roles of classic fairy tale characters. As Little Red Riding Hood, the Big Bad Wolf, the Evil Witch, and Prince Charming emerge from the darkness with very real weapons, the women’s only goal becomes survival. The film features practical creature effects and large-scale set pieces throughout its 125-minute runtime.
What makes EVER AFTER genuinely exciting is its cast — an assembly of genre legends that independent horror rarely manages to pull off. Mark Sheppard (WB’s Supernatural, TNT’s Leverage), Bonnie Aarons (The Nun, The Nun II), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes, The Devil’s Rejects), Kane Hodder (Hatchet, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan), and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange) share the screen for the first time. The ensemble is rounded out by Maria De Sa (Amazon’s PRISMA), Lydia Pearl Pentz, Meg Vermette, and Riana Emma Balla (Amazon’s Jack Ryan). Illes co-wrote the screenplay with Laszlo Krisztian Gera (Haunting Trophies, The Basement).
“As a lifelong horror fan, working with Mark Sheppard, Bonnie Aarons, Michael Berryman, Kane Hodder and Malcolm McDowell was something I could only dream about for many years,” said Laszlo Illes, writer/director. “Every one of them gave everything to their characters, and I couldn’t be more proud of what we created together.”
EVER AFTER opens exclusively in U.S. and Canadian theaters on September 4, 2026,
before hitting On Demand on October 27, 2026.
