Universal Studios Hollywood has confirmed that Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, the park’s first high-speed outdoor roller coaster, will open this summer. The announcement arrives alongside a new media campaign featuring narration by Vin Diesel, with the promotional spot scheduled to air during major broadcasts including the Winter Olympics, Super Bowl LX, and the NBA All-Star Game on NBC and Peacock.

Positioned on the park’s Upper Lot, the attraction will be housed within a large garage-inspired structure and utilize 360-degree rotation technology intended to simulate drifting vehicles. The coaster is designed to reach speeds of up to 72 miles per hour while traveling across approximately 4,100 feet of elevated track that extends over sections of the park, including the multi-level Starway escalator linking the Upper and Lower Lots.
The launch aligns with the 25th anniversary of the Fast & Furious franchise and precedes its final theatrical installment, Fast Forever, currently slated for release in March 2028. The new attraction joins a lineup of major experiences at Universal Studios Hollywood, reflecting the resort’s continued investment in large-scale rides tied to recognizable film properties.
