Production has officially wrapped on The Nice Ones, a psychological horror-thriller from writer-director Peter Stylianou. Following his 2024 vampire feature Drained, which established him as a distinctive new voice in independent horror, Stylianou now turns his attention to a story that blends intimate paranoia with an otherworldly presence.
The film stars Joelle Rae (The Witcher) and Emrhys Cooper (Nosferatu) as Kate and Dale, a couple who set out for a countryside getaway with friends. What begins as a lighthearted reunion quickly unravels when Kate spots strange lights moving across the night sky. As group tensions rise, an unsettling force penetrates the walls of their stylish Airbnb, forcing Kate to face both her fractured past and a terrifying threat beyond human understanding.
The ensemble cast features Donna Preston (The Sandman), Ian Whyte (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire), Daniela Norman (Tiny Pretty Things), Ayvianna Snow (How to Kill Monsters), James Akka (The Sandman), Nick Lavelle (Red XII), Tom Kelsey (National Theatre Live: Dr. Strangelove), and Andrew Lyle-Pinnock (The Little Mermaid).
Stylianou explained his approach, saying, “With The Nice Ones I wanted to collide intimate paranoia with something vast and uncanny. It’s about identity, trust, and what happens when the people closest to you might not be who they seem.”
The film is a co-production between RG Films, Level 33 Entertainment, and Snow Pictures, marking the producing debut of Ayvianna Snow. Level 33 Entertainment will also oversee worldwide distribution.
