Shudder and Independent Film Company have revealed their upcoming theatrical release FORBIDDEN FRUITS, set to debut exclusively in theaters in 2026. The new film marks a collaboration between writer-director Meredith Alloway and co-writer Lily Houghton, presenting a darkly humorous and tense exploration of identity, power, and community through a genre lens.

The story centers on Apple, an employee at Free Eden who leads a witchy femme cult hidden beneath the mall store after hours. Joined by Cherry and Fig, the group has crafted a private ritualistic world—until new hire Pumpkin enters the fold. Her presence puts pressure on the group’s carefully managed dynamic, exposing internal conflicts that threaten to unravel their unity. As tensions rise, the women must confront the truths they’ve long buried or face a violent outcome.
