Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group is ushering in the haunted-holiday season with a special 20th-anniversary edition of its long-running cult phenomenon URBAN DEATH, presenting a limited engagement of URBAN DEATH XMAS December 18–21, 2025, in North Hollywood.

This year’s production brings a newly devised blend of horror, dark humor, and experimental performance for a wintertime installment that leans into unsettling holiday themes. Guests begin their journey by navigating a foreboding seasonal maze before entering the theatre for a series of stark, physical vignettes performed in Zombie Joe’s signature style. After the show, audiences exit through a second maze featuring an entirely new sequence of confrontational imagery and nightmarish encounters.

Created by Zombie Joe and Jana Wimer, and directed by Denise Devin, URBAN DEATH XMAS maintains the production’s reputation for pushing boundaries while delivering a uniquely intimate horror experience. The attraction is recommended for adults only due to graphic content, mature themes, and nudity.

The event runs one weekend only, with performances at 8:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. each night at the ZJU Theatre Group on Lankershim Boulevard. Tickets are available in advance for $24 at ZombieJoes.Tix.com, with limited door sales at $28. As always, the production includes a festive photo opportunity with Zombie-Santa.

With just four nights on the calendar, URBAN DEATH XMAS remains one of Los Angeles’s most distinctive year-end horror offerings.
