Freestyle Digital Media has secured North American digital and DVD distribution rights for the Swedish-language horror feature FEED, with a release scheduled for May 9, 2025. The digital film distribution arm of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group will make the film available on internet, cable, and satellite VOD platforms, as well as DVD.
Directed by Johannes Persson and based on a true historical case, FEED explores Sweden’s first recorded execution of a woman for witchcraft. The narrative follows a young medical student who joins her influencer boyfriend on a marketing assignment centered around a lake-bound campsite. The location is rumored to be haunted by the spirit of Märit, a woman accused of witchcraft centuries ago. Intended as a tourist draw, the legend of Märit becomes more than just marketing fiction.
The film was produced by Alexander Eriksson, Paolo Vacirca, and Joakim Lundell. The screenplay was written by Paolo Vacirca and Henry Stenberg. The cast includes Molly Nutley as Elin, Sofia Kappel as Josefin, and Annica Liljeblad as Ragnhild, alongside Vincent Grahl, Joel Lützow, Emelina Rosenstielke, Amanda Lindh, Michael Odhag, and Emma Suki.
