Freestyle Digital Media, the digital distribution division of Allen Media Group, has acquired North American VOD rights to THE EYE. The supernatural psychological thriller will be available to rent or own on digital HD platforms, cable, and satellite services, as well as on DVD, beginning January 20, 2026.
The film stars Shruti Haasan as Diana, a widow who returns to a remote island following the drowning death of her husband. Seeking closure, Diana instead encounters local myths surrounding a version of the Evil Eye that demands a life in exchange for another. As grief and isolation weigh on her decisions, Diana forms a connection with a young boy named Aki while growing increasingly uncertain whether the island’s residents are concealing the truth or if her own perception is deteriorating.
Written by Emily Carlton and directed by Daphne Schmon, THE EYE is produced by Melanie Dicks and executive produced by Yu-Fai Suen and Jess Hines. The supporting cast includes Mark Rowley, Anna Savva, Linda Marlowe, Christos Stergioglou, and Elpida Stathatou.
Freestyle Digital Media negotiated the acquisition directly with worldwide sales representative Giulia Prenna of Mind the GAP Productions. The release positions THE EYE for a wide home-viewing rollout early in 2026.
