Well Go USA will release Ghost in the Cell, written and directed by Joko Anwar (Impetigore, Satan’s Slaves), in theaters nationwide on Friday, October 2, 2026.

The film drops viewers into a high-security prison ruled by feuding gangs and a tyrannical warden. When a new inmate arrives, a string of gruesome murders begins, each victim left on morbid display. The inmates, trapped behind bars with no way out and no help coming, have to set aside their rivalries long enough to identify an invisible, otherworldly killer roaming the cell blocks with murderous intent. Anwar mixes action, black comedy, horror, and thriller across the 106-minute runtime.
Anwar has spent the last decade building one of the most reliable track records in Indonesian horror, and Ghost in the Cell transplants his interest in inherited guilt and institutional rot into a genuinely closed setting. The cast includes Abimana Aryasatya, Almanzo Konoralma, Aming Sugandhi, Arswendy Bening Swara, Bront Palarae, and Dimas Danang Suryonegoro. Tia Hasibuan produces.
Ghost in the Cell opens only in theaters on October 2, 2026.
