Glass Eye Pix, the long-standing independent production company founded by filmmaker Larry Fessenden, has announced the launch of a dedicated video label in partnership with OCN Distribution. The initiative is timed with the company’s 40th anniversary celebration, set to begin November 2, 2025.

The label will focus on releasing newly restored editions of key films from Glass Eye Pix’s influential archive. These releases will arrive as feature-rich Blu-ray editions designed to preserve and spotlight the visual identity and legacy of the studio’s early and experimental works. Titles will include foundational projects from filmmakers like Ti West, Kelly Reichardt, Jim Mickle, and others whose early work was supported by the company.

Glass Eye Pix, which has produced horror and genre films since 1985, remains an advocate for independent artistic voices. Fessenden, a noted filmmaker in his own right, emphasized his dedication to physical media and the importance of capturing the context and commentary surrounding each film.

The label’s first release will be James Felix McKenney’s AUTOMATONS (2006), a dystopian sci-fi feature starring Christine Spencer, Angus Scrimm, Brenda Cooney, and Fessenden himself. The film centers on a lone survivor of a future war who continues the fight with the help of aging robot companions.

OCN Distribution’s Justin LaLiberty praised Fessenden’s body of work and the enduring legacy of Glass Eye Pix as a cornerstone of independent genre filmmaking in the U.S.

Additional releases from the Glass Eye Pix label will be announced in the coming months.
