Happy, “HorrorGram Thursday”, all you fiend’s! This week, we start something really cool. Throughout the year, you will start to see various HorrorGram posts highlighting a specific artist. This week, the artist we focus on specializes in making you bleed! Sounds horrifying doesn’t it?! The best part about voluntarily torturing yourself for hours on end, is the unique payoff of beautiful tattoos. That’s right! That familiar buzzing sound… it almost puts me in a zen-like state just thinking about hearing that tattoo gun go. Now, I love tattoos. Better yet, I love horror tattoo’s! So, for the sake of repeating myself, let’s call them HorrorInk!
In this inaugural #HorrorGramInk post, we take a spin around the globe to a shop known as, “Heart and Arrow studio“, nestled in the UK. There you will find Joe K. Worrall, an artist specializing in the tattoo realms known as, Color Realism, and Black and Gray. Tattoo artists specializing in these specific genres create lifelike, highly saturated images on human skin that could easily walk off someone’s body and come to life. All of this is done without the use of traditional outlining. Seeing is believing, so feast your eyes on these incredible works of art where, YOU are the canvas.
From concept, to execution. Here we get to see Joe’s mind at work. Taking various ideas, and making them a reality for some lucky customer.
Scream for me! You can almost hear Janet Leigh’s iconic cry’s in this amazing homage to the famous scene from, Psycho.
We’re all infected. Getting a tattoo is like being bitten by a zombie. Once you’re infected, your bank account is screwed. Not only have you found a new way to express yourself, but you’ve found a new way to do it fashionably.
It puts the lotion on its skin. It really is amazing how smoothly Joe blends his ink. We almost want to give ol’ Leatherface here some Oil of Olay.
You’re gonna need a bigger boat. Sometimes tattoo’s can be larger than life. Sink your teeth into this awesome Jaws tattoo by Joe.
We have such sights to show you! Hellraiser has to be one of my favorite horror franchises (the sequel being my most favorite), so you know I couldn’t pass posting this one. “I thought I’d gone to the limits. I hadn’t. The Cenobites gave me an experience beyond limits… pain and pleasure, indivisible.” Thanks, Uncle Frank!
Bowels in or bowels out? We would sit for this tattoo all day long, whilst enjoying some fava beans and a nice chianti. Always pinky-out, people.
Well, that wraps up another week here at HorrorGram. Don’t forget! Just because your favorite artist might live halfway around the world from you, it doesn’t mean you’re assed out. A lot of tattoo artists travel the world, guest spotting at various shops, and tattoo conventions. Reach out to them to find out when and where they are traveling, and book your appointment! Tell them HorrorBuzz sent ya.
Do you have any horror inspired tattoo’s that you’d like to share with us? We want to see them!
Hashtag your ink with #HorrorGramInk and make sure to tag your artist in it as well. Your artist and your tattoo could be featured in one of our next HorrorGram – HorrorInk posts! See you next week, HorrorBuzz readers. Take scare!
