Hulu Picks Up Wattpad Fan-Favorite “Light as a Feather” in Straight-to-Series Order
We have amazing news from Wattpad Studios and Hulu! Hulu has announced that it has picked up Wattpad Studios and AwesomenessTV LIGHT AS A FEATHER in a straight-to-series deal! The show is based on Zoe Aarsen’s supernatural thriller of the same name, LIGHT AS A FEATHER is a Wattpad fan-favorite with more than 2.9 million reads.
LIGHT AS A FEATHER follows five teen girls as they deal with the supernatural fallout from an innocent game of “Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board.” When the girls start dying off in the exact way that was predicted, the survivors must figure out why they’re being targeted — and whether the evil force hunting them down is one of their own.
This show is a joint venture between Wattpad, AwesomenessTV, and Grammnet. LIGHT AS A FEATHER is the first Wattpad story to be picked up by Hulu. The 10-episode horror series will start production in June. We can’t wait to see it come to life!

Creator and executive producer of LIGHT AS A FEATHER will be Lee Fleming Jr. (She’s All That, One Tree Hill) and include AwesomenessTV; Jordan Levin, Shelley Zimmerman, Joe Davola and Brett Bouttier, Wattpad; Aron Levitz and Eric Lehrman, and Grammnet; Tom Russo, Brian Sher, and Stella Bulochnikov. Bloodlist’s Kailey Marsh will also act as co-producer.
AwesomenessTV and Hulu are the latest companies to work with Wattpad Studios to find exciting new voices and IP for screens all over the world. In February, Wattpad, Tongal, and CW Seed launched the pilot episode of Cupid’s Match, based on Lauren Palphreyman (@LEPalphreyman)’s global Wattpad hit of the same name. Other Wattpad Studios entertainment partners include Universal Cable Productions and eOne, among others. Wattpad Studios also works with publishers like Hachette Romans and HarperCollins Children’s Books to turn Wattpad stories into best-selling books all over the world.
