Ice Nine Kills will compose original music for “Terror Tram Starring Art the Clown,” this year’s signature backlot experience at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood. The event opens Thursday, September 3, and runs select nights through Sunday, November 1.

Art the Clown — Damien Leone’s deranged, wordless killer from the Terrifier franchise — takes over the historic Universal backlot with a blood-soaked holiday theme: arriving too early for Christmas, he hijacks the tram for his own twisted celebration. Ice Nine Kills will create new music for the experience by putting a dark twist on classic Christmas songs, the kind of holiday-horror collision the band has proven more than capable of pulling off.

The collaboration is a natural extension of a relationship that has been building since the Terrifier 3 era. Ice Nine Kills recorded “A Work of Art,” the official song from the third film, with David Howard Thornton (Art the Clown himself) appearing in the music video. The track debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, spent 18 weeks on the list, and has streamed nearly 60 million times.

“We are forever honored that Terrifier writer/director Damien Leone and his team invited us to play in their sandbox of bloodshed,” said Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas. “Art himself, David Howard Thornton, killed it in the ‘A Work of Art’ music video, and we’ve had Damien and several of his cast members at our Silver Scream Cons every year so far. Halloween Horror Nights is among our favorite destinations each season, and our fans love it, too. This is yet another natural step forward in our unnatural world of horror.”

Guests who survive the backlot may still find Art lurking throughout the park in unexpected places.

Tickets for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood are available now. The event runs select nights September 3 through November 1.
