Independent Film Company has secured the North American distribution rights to Violent Ends, the sophomore feature from writer-director John-Michael Powell. The film is set for a theatrical release and features a notable ensemble cast including Billy Magnussen (Lilo & Stitch), Alexandra Shipp (Barbie), Nick Stahl (Sin City), James Badge Dale (The Empty Man), Kate Burton (Grey’s Anatomy), and Academy Award winner Ray McKinnon (Knox Goes Away).

Set in the Ozark Mountains, Violent Ends follows Lucas Frost (Magnussen), a man raised in a crime family who is striving to escape his violent roots. As he prepares for a new life with his fiancée Emma (Shipp), he is drawn back into the criminal underworld when his cousin Eli commits a robbery with devastating consequences.

“It’s a true honor to partner with Independent Film Company,” said Powell. “Their commitment to bold, filmmaker-driven storytelling aligns perfectly with our vision for Violent Ends.”

Ayo Kepher-Maat, Vice President of Acquisitions and Productions at Independent Film Company, praised the film, stating, “John-Michael Powell has crafted a gripping tale of vengeance, propelled by Billy Magnussen’s magnetic and commanding performance.”

Produced by Vincent Sieber-Smith and Undine Buka, Violent Ends is executive produced by Catherine Fegan-Kim, Alex Kim (Midnight Road Entertainment), and Billy Magnussen through his company HappyBad Bungalow. The acquisition deal was handled by Ayo Kepher-Maat for Independent Film Company, Pip Ngo for XYZ Films, and Alex Brunner and John McGrath for UTA on behalf of the filmmakers.
