Just in time for Halloween, Laura of the Woods, an entirely handmade, LEGO-inspired stop-motion horror short, has premiered on YouTube. The film adapts a viral story from Tenderfoot TV’s horror podcast Radio Rental.

Radio Rental has passed 85 million downloads with chilling, true stories told by the people who lived them, set against the backdrop of a scripted 1980s video rental store. For this adaptation, the podcast teamed with popular stop-motion creator Twisted Bricks, who gave one of its most unsettling tales a new visual twist. The short is the latest example of how the show’s first-person accounts translate to other formats.

Publicist Stephanie Booker of Beck Media says a full media alert with details and art is available, and that interviews with the creators can be arranged.

Fans of campfire-style scares with a little plastic menace can watch the full short now on YouTube, and learn more about the podcast at radiorentalusa.com.
