Breaking Glass Pictures has announced the official release date for MIA, the new psychological thriller from writer-director Luis “Lou” Ferrer. The film will be available beginning July 8, 2025.

MIA follows Aaron (Shah Motia), a man convinced that a young woman named Emma (Emiliana Jasper) is actually his missing daughter, Mia. But Emma denies knowing him—and what begins as a desperate reunion quickly unravels into a psychological standoff. As the story progresses, viewers are pulled into Aaron’s increasingly unstable perspective, left to question what is real and who, if anyone, can be trusted.

Ferrer, whose prior screenplays have been optioned by both Netflix and Spike Lee, draws inspiration from grounded psychological dramas such as Prisoners and Gone Girl. MIA builds its tension through quiet unease and emotional uncertainty, relying on restrained performances and an evolving narrative that challenges perception.

“MIA is a film designed to make you feel uneasy from the very first frame,” Ferrer said in a statement. “I wanted to explore the terror of uncertainty—of not knowing what’s real or who to trust.”

Rich Wolff, CEO of Breaking Glass Pictures, described the film as “an unforgettable psychological thriller” that delivers both suspense and substance. He emphasized the company’s enthusiasm in partnering with Ferrer to distribute the feature.

MIA will be available on digital platforms starting July 8, 2025.
