PQube and Dragonis Games have announced that Necrophosis: Full Consciousness — the complete edition of the acclaimed Lovecraftian first-person horror experience — will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on May 28, 2026. The release marks the console debut of a game that has already established itself as one of the more distinctive horror titles in recent memory.

In Necrophosis: Full Consciousness, players take the role of Consciousness, a being trapped in a decaying vessel, lost in a world consumed by eternal rot. Navigating grotesque environments and confronting Lovecraftian entities, the game strips away the safety net that most horror games offer: there are no weapons. No guns, no axes, nothing to fight back with. Instead, players must face creatures they cannot fully comprehend and explore spaces their minds could never have imagined — which is exactly the point.

“Most horror games give you a weapon, a gun, an axe, something to fight back with. Necrophosis doesn’t. That’s intentional. This isn’t about killing or surviving. It’s about facing entities you cannot fully understand, exploring worlds your mind could never imagine,” said Ares Dragonis, Founder of Dragonis Games.

The game’s art direction is inspired by the surreal, decaying landscapes of Polish painter Zdzisław Beksiński — a visual vocabulary of beauty and rot existing side by side in dreamlike, otherworldly space. Built over three years with more than 400 handcrafted assets, it is the most ambitious project Dragonis Games has undertaken. The Subconsciousness DLC is included in the console versions in full, adding new surreal locations and poetic narration woven into the puzzles themselves. Physical PlayStation 5 editions also bundle The Shore, Dragonis Games’ debut Lovecraftian horror-adventure.

Necrophosis: Full Consciousness launches May 28, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PlayStation 5 digital edition is available to wishlist now at the PlayStation Store.
