A new clip titled Lift the Sheet has debuted from Dead Giveaway, the upcoming horror comedy from filmmaker Ian Kimble. The film will make its world premiere at the Philadelphia Film Festival on Friday, October 17, with an encore screening on Sunday, October 26.
Starring Ruby Modine (Silent Night, Deadly Night, Shameless), Mikaela Hoover (Superman [2025]), and Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Dead Giveaway follows Jill (Modine), who wakes up after a rough night to find herself hungover, hungry, and sharing her bed with a murdered stranger. From there, her day descends into chaos involving a tied-up man in the closet, an unconscious roommate, and a knife-wielding best friend—all before brunch.
Written, directed, and produced by Ian Kimble, Dead Giveaway marks his feature debut, expanding on one of his original short films. The film blends sharp humor with escalating absurdity, driven by the chemistry between Modine and Hoover as the chaos unfolds.
