Warner Bros. Pictures has released the official trailer for Practical Magic 2, the long-awaited sequel reuniting Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as the Owens sisters, in theaters everywhere on September 11, 2026. Directed by Susanne Bier (Bird Box, The Night Manager) from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman (I Am Legend) and Georgia Pritchett, the film is based on Alice Hoffman’s novel The Book of Magic.
Practical Magic 2 returns to the world of moonlit mischief and ancestral magic first conjured in the 1998 original. Sally and Gillian Owens find themselves facing the dark curse that has plagued their family for generations — a curse that now threatens to unravel everything they’ve built and everyone they love. The film promises the same mix of witchcraft, sisterhood, and supernatural chaos that made the first film a cult favorite, this time with higher stakes and a story drawn directly from Hoffman’s own continuation of the saga.
Bullock and Kidman produce alongside Denise DiNovi, with executive producers Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Donald Sabourin, and novelist Alice Hoffman herself. The film’s ensemble expands considerably, adding Joey King (The Kissing Booth), Lee Pace (Foundation), Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), Xolo Maridueña (Cobra Kai), Solly McLeod, and series veterans Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest.
Practical Magic 2 arrives exclusively in theaters on September 11, 2026.
