Warner Bros. has released the official trailer for Practical Magic 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 1998 supernatural cult favorite. The film opens in theaters on September 11, 2026.
Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return as the Owens sisters, this time facing a dark curse threatening to unravel their family for good. The sequel is directed by Susanne Bier (Bird Box, The Night Manager) from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman, Georgia Pritchett, and Kelly Marcel, based on Alice Hoffman’s novel The Book of Magic. Hoffman also serves as executive producer alongside Donald Sabourin, Andrew A. Kosove, and Broderick Johnson. The film is produced by Denise DiNovi, Bullock, and Kidman.
The cast expands the Owens family universe considerably, adding Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod, with Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing returning as well. The sequel looks to honor what made the original beloved — moonlit magic, sisterhood, and ancestral curses — while bringing new blood into a world that fans have wanted to return to for nearly three decades.
Practical Magic 2 arrives in theaters September 11, 2026.
