Breaking Glass Pictures has announced the release of SMOKEE, a stoner horror-comedy from writer-director Whit Whitman now streaming on Fawesome, with additional platforms in the works for the bloody creature feature.

At a remote marriage-counseling retreat, a group of guests arrives expecting relationship therapy and an unusual getaway — and gets something far worse. Cannabis-fueled rituals and buried grudges accidentally summon Smokee, a knife-wielding demon bear, turning the weekend into a chaotic fight for survival. As guests scramble to stay alive, long-hidden secrets, betrayals, and the strange truth behind the retreat come spilling out. The film blends stoner comedy with supernatural horror and creature-feature chaos in a package the distributor is pitching to fans of Evil Dead II, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, and Pineapple Express — and honestly, that comp list does a lot of the selling.
Whitman directs from his own screenplay. The cast is led by Lynn Lowry (The Crazies, They Came from Within) alongside Alexis “Lexi” Andrews, Timothy Pogue, Elley Ringo, Billy Crank, Anne-Marie Olsen, Juan Szilagyi, Joshua M. Hancock, Robert Rose, Jessica Claire Crosby, Joshua Michael Collins, Brian Patrick Thomas, and a sizable ensemble of additional players. Rich Wolff, Susan Helfrich, and Whitman produce for Little Monsters Entertainment.
“Smokee is the kind of movie I love making: weird, funny, handmade, and completely committed to its own personality. We made it with limited resources but a lot of imagination,” said Whitman. “I chose Breaking Glass because they understand independent filmmakers and offbeat genre movies.”
“Smokee is exactly the kind of unique independent genre film we love,” added Rich Wolff, CEO of Breaking Glass Pictures. “It’s funny, bloody and completely unpredictable.”
SMOKEE is now available on Fawesome. Breaking Glass Pictures is actively pursuing additional streaming and digital distribution.
