MTS Pictures has announced the North American DVD and VOD release of Souls Chapel, an indie horror-western inspired by the real-life legend of an early 1900s reverend who practiced the occult. The film is now available through Deskpop Entertainment on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Fandango at Home.

Souls Chapel follows Ray, a drifter making his way through the hills of old Kentucky who accepts a mysterious bargain — return two icons to a strange entity in exchange for gold. Caught in a brutal snowstorm, Ray seeks refuge inside a small church known as the Souls Chapel. As night deepens, it becomes clear that the clergy are not what they appear, and that the chapel’s grounds are bound to something ancient and genuinely malevolent. Ray must survive until morning and complete his task — or become another soul the chapel claims for good.

Directed by and starring Jake C. Young (Daylight to Dark, A Night of the Undead) — who honed his craft in the tradition of the Italian spaghetti western, drawing on a family lineage that includes Clint Eastwood — the film also stars genre veteran Brian Bremer (Pumpkinhead, Society) alongside Adriana Curtsinger, Jermey Boggs, Gage Carnes, Joseph McDowell, and Molly Gill. The screenplay is by D.W. Daring (Reign of the Red Dragon), who also produced alongside Robert Bess and MTS Pictures.

“Souls Chapel is my way of exploring faith, fear, and the thin line between legend and reality — because sometimes what we believe becomes something very real,” said Young.
