Ethan Allen

Ethan Allen was born and raised in the south bay (SoCal). At age 5 he was taken to the theater to see Halloween 2. Since that time he hasn’t been able to bite into an apple because of the fear of chomping down into a razor blade. At age 12 he went to his first haunt (Knotts Scary Farm) and only has missed a handful of years since then. Ethan has an unhealthy obsession with Elvira, 80’s slashers, cults, and universal monsters which is borderline creepy.

Norman Gidney
norm

Norman Gidney was born in Fullerton California, just a few miles from Disneyland. Raised in Southern California, Norm began his love for the scare at the age of 5 by watching John Carpenter’s Halloween. What followed was a lifelong fascination with the macabre, the suspenseful, and the wonderful world of Halloween. He set out on a quest to share his passion for all things spooky with the rest of the world by developing HorrorBuzz.com.

Martina Gona

Martina Gona once hated getting scared, and now she loves it (only because she has to). She’s been forced to watch all the classics, such as Halloween III: Season of the Witch and Jason X, and now has a deeper appreciation of the genre. You can usually find her giggling at Knott’s Scary Farm or being moved around in the dark by ALONE or Blackout.

Mike Hansen – Senior Film Critic

Mike Hansen (aka Uncle Mike) is from the most frightening place in America: Orange County, CA. He’s been a fan of all things scary since he was a wee little monster watching Sinister Seymour, a local horror movie host on TV. His shady past includes stints as an actor, a teacher, a writer, a monster at Knott’s Scary Farm, a designer and director at GYRO’s World Of Terror, and as 2nd-runner-up in a Bruce Vilanch Look-alike Contest. He has yet to find a genre of horror he doesn’t like, but he has particular fondness for Creepshow, Night Of The Living Dead, and À l’intérieur. He has a degree in Film, with a minor in sarcasm. Brandon Henry – Writer

Brandon Henry was born and raised in Tijuana, Mexico, just south of the border of San Diego. His birthplace is the main reason nothing really scares him (kidding… it’s a very safe place). His love for horror films came when his parents accidentally took him to watch Scream, at the age of 6, thinking that it was a safe-choice because it starred “that girl from Friends”. At 12, he experienced the first of many paranormal events in his life. While he waits to be possessed by the spirit of a satanic mechanic, he works as a Safety Engineer and enjoys going to the theater, watching movies and falling asleep while reading a book.

 Jeff Heimbuch – Senior Editor

Jeff Heimbuch was born and raise on the East Coast, but currently calls SoCal his home. He’s been a fan of horror ever since he accidentally bought a VHS copy of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 at his local K-Mart at the age of 7. Aside from giving him nightmares, it awoken a love of all things that go bump in the night that continues to this day. Since then, he’s made numerous horror films of his own, experienced countless haunts, and always checks under the bed before falling asleep. He enjoys every aspect of horror, and can’t imagine his life without it. His favorite horror films are The Evil Dead films, The Shining, and Halloween 3: Season of the Witch (shut up, it’s a good movie).

Kyle Holl

Kyle‘s infatuation with horror began with haunted attractions and quickly spread to movies and books. He thoroughly misses browsing the horror sections of both Blockbuster and Borders, but intends to discover, share, and discuss as many genre gems as possible.

Adam Lozano

Adam Lozano was born and raised on everything macabre. By the time he was four, he had seen his first horror film “Night of the Living Dead”. From there he learned the world is more exciting to imagine that those bumps in the night came from ghouls hiding in the dark, rather than the reality of cars playing really loud music.

Rachel Patterson – Writer

Rachel Patterson hails from Melbourne, Australia and absolutely has a bigger knife than you. A horror fan since the age of 13, Rachel dedicated herself to the study of gore, and became a qualified SPFX makeup artist; also holding a Bachelor of Communications. A lover of all things spooky, she has worked in haunted houses, in a horror restaurant, a costume shop, on horror movies and has a passion for spooky TV, video games, movies, books, and theatre.

Ryan Asher Reynoso – Writer

Zane Scott

Zane D. Scott suffers from occasional bouts of ennui which are only subsided by painting and writing innocuous articles to express his detailed opinion of the world around him.  Although content at home with his cat and whiskey, his cultural savvy comes from his experience traveling, visiting museums, patroning theatre and indulging in exceptional cuisine. Horror genre goes hand in hand with his dark outlook on humanitarianism, although he considers himself a closet optimist and philanthropist by nature. Zane is currently working on a novella about social interaction and relationships called, Don’t Wear Lipstick. Paradox and theology are often the source of his inspiration.

Taylor Thorne – Writer

Born and raised in California, Taylor loves exploring the darkest depths and spookiest spots in the sunny state she calls home. When she’s not writing, Taylor can usually be found braving haunts, breaking out of escape rooms, indulging in immersive theater (both as an actor and audience member), or cuddling her two fur babies. Taylor graduated from CSUF in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in English, and is currently earning her teaching credential. You can also catch her in many of Shine On Collective’s* (*link to shineoncollective.com) various theatrical productions.

Brian Tull – Writer
brian

Artist. Writer. Horror nerd. Your fear sustains me. Hailing from Huntington Beach, California, Brian sunk his teeth into horror with the likes of Goosebumps and Are you afraid of the Dark. He has since become an aficionado and expert on VR and its integration into the horror genre. His likes are a long walk in the cemetery, nails on a chalkboard, and blurring the line between real and imagined.
