ISOTRE Films and writer/director Peter Klausner are bringing body horror short STOMACH IT to Crypt TV on Friday, May 15, 2026 — the same day the film makes its Cannes debut, where Lon Haber & Co. will present it to worldwide distributors and audiences.
STOMACH IT follows Joel, a crime-scene cleaner played by Jon Lee Richardson (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F), who fixates on the personal effects left behind by the dead — a child’s wooden horse at the scene of a shooting, a toy at an overdose. His attempts to compartmentalize collapse during a late-night job when he becomes convinced a monstrous presence is watching and manipulating him, forcing a confrontation between professional detachment and outright self-destruction.
Klausner directs from his own screenplay, leaning heavily into practical effects rather than digital. The production built a custom stomach air bladder that inflates to simulate a grotesquely pulsating abdomen, and a puppeteered wooden rig for scenes where intestinal forms emerge from the background. Special effects makeup artist Michael Dinetz (Avengers: Infinity War) led the effects work. Cinematographer Emily Tapanes (The Morning Show, A Man on the Inside) and editor Liam Molina (Fallout, Chief of War) round out the creative team. Torey Rubin (RWBY) co-produced.
“I’ve been a fan of Crypt TV for years, and it’s been such a valuable place to watch and learn from these innovative horror shorts. I think their viewers will appreciate the body horror route we took with the film,” said Klausner.
STOMACH IT arrives with strong notices from Dread Central, Rue Morgue, and Reel News Daily after a festival run spanning Screamfest, Indy Shorts, FilmQuest, and Panic Fest. Klausner is currently in pre-production on a found-footage horror feature inspired by true events.
STOMACH IT premieres on Crypt TV on May 15, 2026 — watch it on the Crypt TV YouTube channel.
