The Sunrise Collective, a hub for Asian, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) creatives, will return to the Sundance Film Festival for its third year. Presented by Daniel Dae Kim’s 3AD, Gold House, and The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), the event will take place on January 24 and 25, 2025, at the private Pine Cone Ridge venue on Main Street.

The two-day program will feature panels, fireside chats, and events highlighting the contributions of AANHPI and multicultural filmmakers, actors, and industry leaders. Notable participants include Tan France, Himesh Patel, Smriti Mundhra, and Jim Sarbh, as well as filmmakers with projects in this year’s Sundance lineup, such as Cherien Dabis, Tadashi Nakamura, and Bao Nguyen.

Key events include a Multicultural Dinner co-hosted with Onyx Collective, featuring stars from Hulu’s Deli Boys, and a private reception in partnership with the Sundance Institute’s Artist Accelerator Program. Panels will explore topics like authentic storytelling, the impact of music in film, and behind-the-scenes insights from showrunners and writers.

Norman Chen, CEO of TAAF, emphasized the collective’s mission to create a space where AANHPI artists can connect and celebrate their heritage. Daniel Dae Kim, CEO of 3AD, highlighted the event’s role in fostering thoughtful discussions and multicultural collaboration. Bing Chen, CEO of Gold House, underscored the importance of independent stories in amplifying diverse voices.

The Sunrise Collective is supported by the MacArthur Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and programming partners such as Hulu, Audible, and Rotten Tomatoes.
