Sunrise Films and Vertigo Releasing will launch Samuel Clemens’ feature debut The Drowned on digital platforms worldwide this October. The myth-tinged thriller premieres in the United Kingdom and Ireland on 6 October 2025 through Vertigo, followed by North America on 7 October and Australia/New Zealand on 8 October via Sunrise.
Starring Alan Calton (Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning), Lara Lemon (War of the Worlds: The Attack), and Lily Catalifo (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), The Drowned centers on three art thieves who retreat to an isolated seaside safe house after stealing a priceless painting. When a fourth accomplice disappears, suspicion turns inward—and toward a possible presence lurking beneath the waves. The ensemble also features Dominic Vulliamy, Corrinne Wicks, Michelangelo Fortuzzi, and Sandrine Salyères.
Formerly titled The Waterhouse, the film bowed at London’s FrightFest Halloween. Production comes from Take The Shot Films and Featuristic Films, with worldwide sales handled by Raven Banner Entertainment.
