MT Maliha’s supernatural horror THE VORD arrives on UK digital platforms on May 4, 2026. The film weaves Norse mythology and spiritual conflict into a dark thriller about a woman trapped between her pagan heritage and the church — with an ancient entity manipulating everything from the shadows.
THE VORD centers on an ancient Nordic force known as “The Shadow” in the modern world and “Ivar” in the old. Ivar corrupts a priest — Father Jordan Payne — compelling him to claim the soul of a woman and deliver her as a gift to The Old One in exchange for his own redemption. Caught between her pagan roots and her faith, the woman must resist those she once trusted. A spirit guide fights to redeem the corrupted, even as the ancient evil tightens its grip.
The film stars Kevin Tan, Steve Wallenda as Shadow, Logan Schmucker as Sten, Colleen O’Brien as Mother Reperata, and Chiko Mendez as Father Jordan Payne. The film runs approximately 100 minutes.
Director Maliha described the film’s central tension as a “centuries-old tale of redemption” that blurs the line between saviour and sinner — placing the horror not just in the supernatural entity, but in the human choices that allow it to operate.
