Cleopatra Venom and MVD Entertainment Group have announced the July 28, 2026 digital release of The Withering, a supernatural horror film built around a deceptively chilling premise: what if growing younger was the most terrifying thing that could happen to a town?
The Withering centers on Judith, an embittered woman in her seventies facing a terminal cancer diagnosis, who stumbles onto a strange amulet at an estate sale. The artifact is ancient — and hungry. It rejuvenates Judith’s body by siphoning vitality from the surrounding community, leaving illness, decay, and death in its wake, spreading fastest among the town’s youngest residents. As Judith grows younger, stronger, and increasingly violent, her compassionate caregiver Haley begins piecing together what the amulet is doing — only to be cast aside, left alone in a dying town with just her troubled sister for support. When Judith’s passive draining escalates to outright murder, Haley has to find a way to destroy the artifact before it consumes everyone.
It’s a vivid concept — the body horror of reversed aging weaponized against an entire community — and the trailer suggests the film leans into both the quiet dread and the visceral ugliness of Judith’s transformation.
The Withering hits digital platforms on July 28, 2026.
