Unhinged puts players in the role of Ava, voiced by Zoë Kravitz, who wakes up alone during a violent storm that has knocked out the power in her building. With only her phone as a flashlight and lifeline, she must navigate to safety while staying in contact with her best friend Claire (voiced by Sadie Sink) and building superintendent Ben (voiced by Troy Baker). The catch: she is not as alone as she thinks.
The experience is described as something that feels like “playing” a show or movie — interactive entertainment that blurs the line between game and narrative horror. All you need is a Netflix subscription and your phone.
Unhinged comes from Night School Studio, the acclaimed team behind Oxenfree, Oxenfree II, and Black Mirror: Thronglets. The studio has built a reputation for deeply atmospheric, story-driven supernatural experiences, and Unhinged appears to push that approach into new territory by putting the player physically inside a horror scenario rather than alongside a separate protagonist.
Unhinged is available June 30, 2026, exclusively on Netflix.
