Vaneast Pictures, founded by Danielle Gasher, has secured the international sales rights for the upcoming horror feature The Confession. The film stars Italia Ricci (Designated Survivor), Scott Mechlowicz (Euro Trip), Zachary Golinger (Barry), and Terence Rosemore (Superman).

Written and directed by Will Canon, The Confession follows a musician who returns to her childhood home with her son. There, she uncovers a recording of her late father confessing to a murder he claims was committed to protect himself from an unknown evil. As her son’s behavior grows increasingly disturbing, she struggles to stop the darkness that has resurfaced. The story draws inspiration from the enduring folktale of the Pied Piper.

“The Confession is a chilling reimagining of the Pied Piper legend anchored by a haunting performance from Italia Ricci. We are thrilled to bring this film to market at TIFF,” said Danielle Gasher of Vaneast Pictures.

Director Will Canon added, “Danielle is smart and ambitious and has championed our film since she first saw it. We are beyond excited to be working with Danielle and Vaneast Pictures on The Confession.”

The project is produced by Rosanna Eden-Ellis of Five By Five Films, with executive producers Will Canon and Mark Petersen of Three Folks Pictures. Domestic sales are being handled by Kevin Iwashina of Metzger Iwashina Media.
