Elli Films has announced that Voidance, a sci-fi time-loop thriller from director Marianna Dean (Breaking Infinity), will celebrate its European Premiere as the closing film of the Sci-Fi-London Film Festival on May 17. The film arrives on digital platforms in the UK and Ireland on May 25, in the US and Canada on May 26, and in Australia and New Zealand on May 27.

Voidance follows Alana Toro, a candidate undergoing her final assessment to join the elite ATIC Guard. The test places her inside a simulated space station bar with a single directive: identify and prevent a terrorist attack before it happens. Each failed attempt resets the scenario, but Alana has only a limited number of chances to get it right. As she navigates a cast of guarded and unpredictable patrons, gaining their trust proves as difficult as pinpointing the threat. With each loop, new details emerge, assumptions shift, and the sanctioned solution begins to feel like the wrong one — pushing Alana toward an unorthodox choice that may cost her everything she trained for.

Dean directs from a script by Simon X. Frederick. The film stars James Cosmo (Game of Thrones, Braveheart), Zoe Cunningham (Breaking Infinity), Neil Bishop (Beautiful Disaster, Beautiful Wedding), Mim Shaikh (Queenie, Informer), Billy Price (Hollyoaks), and Chris Charles (Hollyoaks, Mrs Sidhu Investigates). Voidance is produced by Tom Taplin for Elli Films, in association with Mind Engagement Productions and Unfolding Entertainment.

“When something has been living in your head for a long time, it’s exciting to see it as a final movie, released into the world,” said Dean. “Hearing back how the audience relate to the film is a particular joy.”

Producer Taplin adds that the film uses the sci-fi setting to explore timely moral questions: “We’re living in a time where the public are becoming increasingly distrustful of those in power. Sci-fi is an amazing genre to explore those sort of urgent moral questions without our biases from earthly politics.”

Voidance closes the Sci-Fi-London Film Festival on May 17. Tickets for the premiere are available at sci-fi-london.com. The film arrives on digital platforms beginning May 25.
