Cranked Up Films has announced the VOD release of WORMTOWN, the award-winning apocalyptic horror-thriller from director Sergio Pinheiro and writer Andrew James Myers. The film is now available to rent or purchase on Apple TV and Amazon.
Following a strong festival circuit run, WORMTOWN garnered multiple awards including Best Feature at HorrOrigins, The Chicago Horror Film Festival, and From Beyond Film Festival. It also received the Achievement in Production Award at Grimmfest, cementing its status as one of the most notable independent horror releases of the year.
Set in the plague-ridden town of Ashland, Ohio, WORMTOWN unfolds one year into an outbreak of mind-altering, flesh-eating worms that have transformed the townspeople into fervent followers of a cult-like leader, Mayor Joshua. A group of uninfected women struggle to survive through scavenging, isolation, and extreme hygiene—until the town’s fragile balance of faith and fear begins to unravel.
