Kino Lorber will launch a new 4K restoration of Yorgos Lanthimos’ 2009 breakthrough DOGTOOTH at IFC Center in New York City on June 20, with additional U.S. cities to follow. The theatrical re-release is anchored by a striking new poster from longtime collaborator Vasilis Marmatakis.

Winner of the Un Certain Regard Prize at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and a Best Foreign Language Film nominee at the 83rd Academy Awards®, DOGTOOTH established Lanthimos (Poor Things, The Favourite) as a leading voice in contemporary cinema. The film explores a Greek family that keeps its three adult children sealed inside a rigidly controlled home—an experiment that unravels when an outsider disrupts the household’s fabricated reality.

The 4K restoration was produced from the original 35 mm camera and sound negatives by Boo Productions and mk2 Films, with color grading by Gregory Arvanitis and Thimios Bakatakis and digital sound work by Landros Ntounis. Lanthimos supervised the entire process to ensure the restored presentation matches his original vision.
