Director Remington Smith’s debut feature LANDLORD will make its World Premiere at Grimmfest on Friday, October 10, at 3:30 PM at the Odeon Great Northern in Manchester, UK, followed by its North American Premiere at the Nightmares Film Festival on Saturday, October 18, at 2 PM at the Gateway Film Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Set during a sweltering summer in a decaying apartment complex, LANDLORD follows a Black bounty hunter (newcomer Adama Abramson) on the hunt for a stolen briefcase. Her search takes an unexpected turn when she encounters Alex (Cohen James Cooper), a young boy whose mother is murdered by their white vampire landlord (William McKinney). With nowhere left to turn, the pair form an uneasy alliance to take down the undead property owner, his loyal familiar Christopher (Lance Gerard), and Sheriff Connor (J. Barrett Cooper).

Smith—known for his earlier works The Woods and The Derby—blends grounded realism with classic horror to tell a story about marginalized lives facing both systemic and supernatural forces. Drawing from his own experiences with transient living, Smith uses the vampire myth to explore themes of power, ownership, and survival in modern America.
