The Outer Threat, a paranoia-laced sci-fi thriller starring Constance Wu, William Fichtner, and Mark O’Brien, is set to arrive on digital platforms on July 10, 2026, with a Canadian theatrical run to follow on July 24 via VVS Films.
Written and directed by William Woods in his feature debut, the film follows an astrophysicist who, after making a startling extraterrestrial discovery, is forced to flee with his family from their home. Pursued through the countryside by a relentless and anonymous assailant, the family’s desperate flight forces them to question what is real — as the line between cosmic revelation and human paranoia blurs toward a tense and emotional confrontation.
Wu (Crazy Rich Asians, Fresh Off the Boat) leads the cast alongside O’Brien (Ready or Not, Arrival) and Fichtner (The Dark Knight, Armageddon). International sales rights are held by The Coven.
The Outer Threat hits digital platforms on July 10, 2026.
