BloodStream, the horror, thriller, and sci-fi streaming platform from Studio Dome, is premiering Nightmarish, its first serialized vertical horror series, on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Unlike the wave of vertical micro-dramas that has dominated apps like ReelShort and DramaBox — almost exclusively romance-driven — Nightmarish is a psychological-horror anthology built from the ground up for a phone screen. Shot natively in the 9:16 format, every episode is a self-contained nightmare designed to be watched in order and binged in sequence. The series leans into what genuinely works on mobile: dread, paranoia, and scares that land before you can look away, rather than the action sequences that vertical framing tends to flatten.
Standout episodes include Sleepyhead, in which a young woman chasing a viral online trend finds herself stalked by a transferable curse, and The Mare, where a woman’s fresh start curdles as her nightmares begin leaving real wounds on her body.
Nightmarish comes from the Atlanta-based studio of the same name, founded in 2024 by filmmakers Madison Hoover and Jaime Lucero Jr. after their debut short, The Mare. The series features an ensemble of emerging Atlanta talent including Hoover, Lauren Lox, Jason Williams, Emily Topper, and Rachel Faulkner.
“The micro-drama wave proved audiences will watch a full story one vertical episode at a time. It just hasn’t really scared them yet,” said Shaked Berenson, CEO of Studio Dome. “Nightmarish is the first show we’ve built to be watched in sequence, and a horror-native platform is exactly where serialized vertical horror should live.”
Nightmarish premieres June 28 on BloodStream. Visit bloodstreamtv.com for more information.
